Chocolate Poppy Seed Brownies

Ingredients
114 g (½ cup) unsalted butter
200 g (1 cup + 3 Tbsp) semi‑sweet or dark chocolate, chopped or chips
2 large eggs
½ tsp vanilla extract
¼ tsp fine salt
220 g (1 cup) granulated sugar
1 packet (227 g) Hasho Double‑Roasted Poppy Seed Paste
70 g (¾ cup) ground poppy seeds
50 g (about ½ cup) all‑purpose flour
Optional Ganache Topping
20 g (1½ Tbsp) unsalted butter
80 g milk or semi‑sweet chocolate, chopped
2 Tbsp mascarpone or crème fraîche
Instructions
1. Preheat & Prep
Preheat your oven to 350 °F (175 °C). Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment, leaving an overhang for easy removal.
2. Melt Chocolate & Butter
In a heatproof bowl (or over a double boiler), melt the butter and chocolate together, stirring until smooth.
3. Whisk in Eggs & Sugar

4. Add Hasho & Poppy Seeds
Blend in the entire packet of Hasho paste until evenly distributed. Next, stir in ground poppy seeds for texture and flavor .
5. Fold in Flour
Gently fold in the flour just until no streaks remain. The batter will be thick and glossy.
6. Bake
Spread batter in the prepared pan and bake for 25–30 minutes—edges should be set, center still a touch gooey when a toothpick is inserted . Cool completely in pan.
7. Optional Ganache
Melt the butter, chocolate, and mascarpone together until smooth. Pour over cooled brownies and chill until set.
8. Slice & Store
Using the parchment overhang, lift brownies out and cut into squares. Store in an airtight container for up to one week (refrigerated), or freeze up to one month.
